New Gallery Show!

Stop by Art Emporium from June 18th – July 14th and see Clayton Spangler’s newest gallery exhibition – “A Tale of Two Cities”

For several years, award-winning photographer Clayton Spangler has been creating artwork of the iconic streetscapes of Charleston, WV. After visiting the southern city of Charleston, SC, he chose to incorporate it into his portfolio, and “A Tale of Two Cities” was born. Clayton saw that the two Charleston’s are so different- yet at their core; so much alike- both very much a story of our past and how we live today. Each city has a history in being pivotal for their respective regions as shipping and commerce centers – but it’s in the architecture and streetscapes that one finds the things that truly define each city.

Clayton’s works start out as a photograph, and are then “painted” using various computer programs that sample brushes and paint textures from every discipline. After the work is completed onscreen, it is then transferred to archival canvas material thru a giclée printing process to create a digital canvas painting.

Reception will be held during ArtWalk Thursday, June 21st from 5:00-8:00pm
